La forman una vasta red multilingüe e intertextual de textos, producidos desde la Edad Media, por autores masculinos y femeninos, que se refieren a las mujeres ya sea como tema de debate o como personajes que dialogan con el propósito de definir sus cualidades morales, físicas e intelectuales, generalmente en contraposición con las de los hombres.
